I've been researching this error message and it appears that it pertains to inserting data that is too large for a field, yada.yada.yada..But I'm not inserting any data.

Here is my problem:
I am not inserting any data, I am trying to open a page when I receive this error in one spot and in another I am trying to view a list of records and when the user clicks "Next 10" I get this message but on the inital opening of this recordset..?

any ideas?

thanks

No, but thanks.
I seen that article as well.

Actually, here is what was happening.
The data that I was retrieving contained a date of: 5/28/0004.
For some reason the statement: to_date(date(),'MM/DD/YYYY')
was inserting only the last 2 digits, 04 and was being padded with 2 00's.
So, when I retrieved the data, this was causing a problem....

thanks again for looking into my problem.
