Hi, I just bought some new hardware i have questions about. My questions are as follows:
1) What is a FSB spread spectrum? Why is it set at 50% by deafult?
2) What is AGP spread spectrum? Why is disabled by deafult?
3) CPUID says that my memory works in single channel, even though i have 2x256 banks installed in slots 2 and 3. How do i check that it is i double channel mode? Or does the MB do it automatically?

Thank you.

Correct slots for dual are 1&3 I believe (from what I remember) been to bed since the last Nforce2 build lol
so not sure if the dual channel is auto or set manually, will have to check and get back to you. Martin

The manual says that the dimms should be installed in either 1 and 3, 2 and 3 (thats why 2 and 3 are the same colour, and 3 is being located an inched further than 1 and 2) or 1,2 and 3 to enable the double channel mode.
THank you in advance, and for all your replies!

Also, it appears i bought my mobo from a fresh batch. It is called A7N8X2.0 and is only a week old (according to the date at the bottom of boot up screen). Does this make any differenc?

No differance to the info but a lot of differance as far as problems go, the first revision was a nightmare "in my opinion" bound to be lots of users without problems, but generally seeing a V2.0 is good news. Martin

That V2.0 is good news for you ! That means the mobo will take 400mhz fsb Athlon XP Barton chips when they come out and it also means your board can be set for DDR400 ram as well. I know that DDR333 is faster right now because of the 333 fsb chips and overhead of dual channel but with a 400fsb cpu the ddr400 should bring faster benchmarks... theoretically. At least you have the option.
I'm considering getting one myself...
