Here's the setup
2 Dell 4600's with Perc 3 Raid cards. 1 Dell PowerVault 220s quorum drive with 13 36GB drives running off the RAID card with RAID 5.
I have a crossover running between the 2 4600's and then both have a public IP also. I have a virtual server created, named clustershare with a public IP. This cluster will be a file and print cluster. (if you need more info let me know)
Here are my questions:
1. When setting up the initial shares, they all default to one server. is it possible to have them split between the two servers?
2. If it is, do I have to reconfigure the RAID first or do I create another virtual server with another public IP.
Theoretically this is what I want.
I want joe user to be able to connect to \\clustershare\someshare on node 1
then I also want the same user to connect to another share
\\clustershare\someothershare on node 2 so I can somewhat load balance between the servers. that way I don't have node 1 always maxed out and node 2 completely unused until node 1 dies. is it possible?
btw: if this doesn't make sense, I completely understand, I am having a hard time getting my head around this right now.
