gateway problem

hello,

How do i change the gateway settings on a solaris machine. I have changed the etc/defaultrouter file but i still can't ping outside websites and when i do a netstat is says my gateway address is the same as the machine's ip address. any ideas? i am new to solaris so any suggestions would be helpful

To change the default route use:
route add default xxx.xx.xxx 1
See the manpage for route. I don't have access to it right now. Also, you might need to stop & start the inetd process.
