garbled display after upgrading win 98 to 2000 prof on compaq presario

I upgraded a windows 98 compaq presario 7470 to windows 2000 professional..now my display is all garbled. I have been unsuccessfully looking for display driver for 2000 for the compaq but have not found one. Any suggestions
