Garbage Data Added to Data Fields

I have a simple report, with no formulas, that is just intended to show data. The issue is some of the data from other fields is showing up where it shouldn't.

For example, if the name John Smith should show, the report is displaying John SmiC31-IS. My recordset is not returned this way so it's happening in Crystal. FYI, my data fields are embedded in the text fields for formatting purposes.

Sounds like an overlapping problem. Perhaps there's a field BEHIND the text field, and not actually inside it?

Create a new text field in a clean area of the report and add in fields one at a time and watch the results.

That's a good thought, but unfortunately not what's happening. I seperated out the text field and the data field and still got the wrong values in the data field. I've deleted the fields and started over several times. No luck so far.

That's correct. It doesn't happen every time either. I'm finding data for one account at a time. Depending on which account I find, for some I get the garbage data, for others it displays correctly.

Hmmm, that's an annoying problem...

If you've confirmed that the data is correct, then perhaps you should change your connectivity.

If you're using ODBC, try direct or OLE DB, or vice versa.

If that doesn't resolve, describe the connectivity you're using.
