Quick question,

In a setup with an S8700 running CM 2.1 and multiple Port Networks consisting of G650's only containg "digital" handsets, is the Media Processor the limitation on the number of calls that can be made between each port network? and if so how mant calls can each MedPro handle if a G.711 codec is used (32 or 64)?????

The reason I ask is in this setup all of the external lines (120 channels) are connected to PN01 and I'm trying to calculate if additional resources are required to avoid any blocking.

In an IP connect configuration, the MedPro boards provide the only link between Port Networks. Th TN2302 MedPro can handle 64 simutaneous calls at G.711. That number drops to 32 if you use compresion.

Many thanks,

Is someone also able to tell me how many timeslots are available on the TDN bus between carriers in a G650 port network? Is this a consideration that needs to be taken into account or are these connections non-blocking?

Many thanks.

The backplane is the same as other Definity/CM products: 483 usable timeslots, 241 simutaneous 2-party conversations.
