I have a g450 being installed as just a new media gateway with no s8300 at my main site to feed some new floors digital and analog phones. The gateway will be setup to link to my s8730's. how do I make sure no IP phones in the firm ever register to this gateway?

when config the g450 I set the VLAN to what my network admin gives me

on the front panel of the g450.. what port is it that goes into my companies network switch? is it 10/5-6 ?

what is the etr and cca ports for ?

Yes, the 2 LAN ports are 10/5 and 10/6. You can set them up for "redundant" operation (if one cable or port dies, the other one takes over). "ETR" is "Emergency Transfer Relay", used to run an 808A transfer panel, "CCA" is a "Contact Closure Adjunct" and is used to connect a relay for a doorbox (uses a Partner relay module, model 950A1, COMCODE: 107881435)

Sorry to be a pest.. I configured 10/5-6 for 100 full duplex.. I tried 1GB, but it spit back an operation failed message. I used the setup wizard to set my vlan and ip info as well as the 4 address in my mgc list.

Can you tell me the sequence for the port redundancy commands? Once I do that I should be able to connect up to my network and do my PBX translations?

I don't put IP addresses on the 2 LAN ports do I.. just the one I entered in the setup?
