I'm very familiar with programming a G700 from scratch, but I'm not very familiar with the G450 yet. When I do a 'show run' from a working G450, is this pretty much all there is in the config to get the G450 on the network and register to the server? If so, that's pretty simple. There's not much there...compared to a G700. I see the IP of the G450, the default gateway, the IP of the server it's registering to and some other stuff. If I were to configure a brand new G450 with only what I saw in the 'show run' of a working G450, is that really all it takes?

The G450s and 430s are much simpler than the G700s.

All you need is a an MGP IP, default gateway and the MGC list.

Be sure to set the ports to 100/full with the follwoing commands.

set port negotiation 10/5 disable
set port duplex 10/5 full
set port speed 10/5 100MB

This is very important: DO A COPY RUN START

Unlike the G700, the G4xx gateways don't automatically save the config.

Thanks.

Yeah I noticed the G450 was more like a Cisco router regarding the commands and so on. I've been doing a copy run start on the existing 450's we have.
