I am setting up a G350 with an S8300LSP for a customer, but I am having trouble with the vlans.
The customer is using vlan 2 for the phones on a set of cisco catalyst express 500 series switches.
While on the customer network, I can access G350 and the S8300/G700 controller at the main location, however I cannot access or ping the S8300 LSP in the local G350.
If I telnet to the G350 or access it through the console port, I can ping the S8300 LSP.
I am not using vlan 1 in the G350. I have done the command "icc-vlan" from the "interface-vlan-2" prompt to set vlan 2 as the icc vlan.
I have tried as a test to connect my laptop directly to the 10/3 port to see if I could ping the LSP then. I was able to ping and connect to it via ASA when connected directly to the 10/3 port.
The 10/3 port is bound to vlan 2, by the way.
Another test that I tried while connected directly to the 10/3 port was to go to the "interface-vlan-1" prompt and set the "icc-vlan". After that I backed out of "interface-vlan-1" and tried a ping to the S8300 and could not get a response.
When I changed the icc vlan back to vlan 2, I could successfully ping the S8300 again.
However, I am not sure that it was a valid test since vlan 1 is not configured in the G350 (no IP address, gateway, etc...).
For obvious reasons, I am hoping that I will be told that it is a misconfiguration in the customers cisco switch and not the G350, since I don't have access to them. But I can't help thinking that I have somehow missed something...
I look forward to the wisdom of the Great Tek-Tips.com members...
Thanks In Advance,
Todd
