I am looking for a checklist, that someone can use/run -daily, to check certain aspects of the functionality of the PBX. Does anyone know if Avaya has one or is there a canned report out there that I can use? Thanks.

Maintenance aspect of the system, always check for any active alarm/error reports ("display alarm", "display error"), also check any scheduled maintenance (such as backup)tasks at least using "list history" from ASA terminal. Not sure what software release you have. For MV1.x or higher (i.e. CM) with S8xxx media servers, also check maintenance alarms/logs via web admin.

One of the most important things I do for our system is document what problems happen in it and what it took to fix it. This along with a maintenance log of when you did your backups, when you cleaned the filters, so on and so on. Anyone can look at these and know what it took to fix the same problem again, should it come back.

I would recommend this even if you have a full maintenance agreement. While this is an Avaya system, it is your system. Do your maintenance and you will have fewer problems from it.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.
