We are looking for a solution for small sites with 4 CO trunks, 2 to 4 analog stations, 5 to 20 46xx VoIP phones, all with BASIC local survivability. We use the G700/LSP a lot and have tried the Multitech. These would do the job but we'd consider a G150 or G250. Does anyone have any experience with these? Does the basic local survivability work for the 46xx phones or just the internal station ports?

I have installed a G250, it is very similar to the G350 and local survivability works for all phones (it is not just basic, the phones have all features available if you install an S8300 as LSP on it.) It is a very good solution for small offices.

I have not yet installed any G150 so I cannot help you with it..

petran,
How is the quality of the calls on the G250?
I have installed several of the multitech gateways and had to replace every one of them because of echo on the lines.
I am actually looking into replacing them with G150/G250's.

Thanks a lot for the responses. I'm having a tough time justifying the G150/G250 as the smallest gateway for remote sites. Versus a G700, these new gateways are very inflexible and still pretty pricey. I like the standard survivability though. If I can't get the right balance I might just go SIP on the Avaya phones and use an off-the-shelf gateway, even if I have to give up survivability. Anybody out there tried this yet? The target would be offices of 5 to 20 users but I need the flexibility to ramp up/down the number of analog ports, support copper DID and ground/loop-starts, along with an occassional PRI. Should be a lot cheaper than a G700 and probably give a G250 a run for it's money.

I have never installed a multitech gateway so I cannot give any help..

As for G250s, I have only installed one and the customer has not been complaining. They are similar to G350s. We have installed about 300 of those with a few problems but generally they are OK. Voice quality is OK also...
