Hi all

I was wondering if anybody had a best practice for upgrading 96xx VPN phones once they have been installed at home. The phones have been configured to work and do work, then new firmware comes out, what is the BP for this other that getting each user to bring them to the office?

Thanks for any help

you already have the answer: they need to bring them into the office for updating. That is the best way...

You could do it over the internet but you have to be sure that the VPN settings still can be set (it must be enabled for the set)
It is much easier to bring it in to the office.

Bringing it into the office is the "safe" way to do the upgrade. You can do the upgrade remotely however as noted above be ready to have the end user re-enter information into the phone if required. If you have to upgrade the boot firmware and not just the application firmware I would strongly suggest bringing the phone in.

Or build/upgrade a new phone in the office and send it to them, and have them ship their phone back when they get the new one... This reduces their downtime.

Thanks,
