I'm an experienced VBA programmer. I'm getting ready to jump into VB.NET (I bought Visual Studio.NET). A fellow programmer (Java bacground) of mine claims that Microsoft is starting to steer away from VB.NET and instead focus more on C#.NET. Is this true or is he blowing smoke? I'm hoping that Microsoft is not so that my VBA, ADO and ASP background will serve as an excellent foundation for VB.NET
I already have my tennies tied up and ready to go!

Please advise.

My two cents...

When Microsoft first marketed .NET, just about every sample was in C# - mainly because it was a new language and they were trying to push it.

Microsoft have always claimed that VB will continue to be a major language in the .NET world - let's face it, with so many VB6 developers (millions?) with years of experience in the language, Microsoft will not simply remove VB from .NET.

Interestingly, the MS project manager for the next version of Visual Studio (Whidbey) is the ex-VB project manager, so all the Whidbey demos are being done using VB .NET!!

Thank you for your reply!
