One of my users is trying to link an Oracle 8i table from Access 97 and cant do it. Another user using Access 2000 can do it. The one with Access 2000 says that the table has function based indexes and thats why he is having problems.

Does any one knows about the issue here.

Thanks in advance. Regards,

The ODBC version is critical when connection to Oracle databases...Too old a version willnot handle recently added features to Oracle ( like function-based indexes)
Try the correct ODBC driver in the Access97 app.

Please note - that ODBC drivers is often changed. From the initial cd-rom Oracle has changed the drivers often. You can download updates from OTN or MetaLink.

Both Oracle and Microsoft has ODBC drivers for Oracle databases – and it is my experience that Oracle implementation is most updated.
