I have the above Tablet PC with W2K installed - I need to rebuild the machine as it wont boot. It doesnt have an internal CDD. It cant boot to a USB external drive, so I need to know how to rebuild. Any ideas!!!

Without the specific model details it's difficult to make any concrete suggestions, however have you tried checking the user manual for specific recovery / rebuild instructions?

It is a ST3500 - There isnt any docs or recovery CD's in the box.

It was built by the Guy who i took over from, and I cant get in touch with him.

Hair is starting to be pulled out!!!!

Thanks for the reposnse M8

According to the manual for the Stylistic ST 3500 that I found here you can configure the tablet to boot from removable media. I'd suggest having a (careful) play with the boot options and a suitably configured USB external drive.

You've not mentioned the docking station, so will assume you've not got one.

Maybe a first option would be to figure out why the current installation isn't booting...?

If, however, you're determined to start afresh, then one idea would be to remove the hard drive and attach it to a desktop machine. Format and sys the drive with W98SE, and copy the W2K CD to a sub-dir. Reassemble HDD in tablet PC and run the installation direct off the hard drive. That would leave you with the problem of getting the necessary drivers (video, NIC etc.) onto the HDD. So you'd either need to try and get them off the hard drive BEFORE you formatted it, or download a fresh set of them from a Fujitsu website and put in a separate sub-dir at same time as you're copying the W2K CD.

I am getting an error that says Operating System not found, so thats why I need to reformat.

I will give your advice a try.

Cheers
