FTP>VAL Ok but no announcement?

Hi.

I'm uploading a wav file (u-law,64bit,8k,mono) to my VAL board, which works fine (and I upload it using binary type), and then go into ASA and do a change announcment and add in the announcement (and duplicate the name minus the .wav).

When I press 0912 (the annc ext no) on the phone, it just flicks on and off without playing the announcement.

Any ideas please?

I believe it needs to be 8kHz, 8 bit Mono.

Also, make sure you have no spaces in the name.

Are you uploading it using Val Manager, or other software? I think they verify the announcement is the correct type before allowing you to upload it.

Ahh solved it - I was using FTP, but it was compressed using u-Law not A-Law, and it's meant to be a-law.
