Hey aheath,
I had problems FTPing in IE once XP SP2 was installed. I could only reach some FTP sites. The solution that may help is to go into Tools-> Internet Options ->Advanced Tab. Remove the checkmark in Use Passive FTP.(for firewall or DSL modem compatability). You should be able to FTP through IE.
