FTP Error

Hello there

Can any one help me.

We are trying to upload our site using dreamweaver ultradev 4 and have the ftp host and username and password. When we try to upload it says "Host found connecting" followed shortly by "An ftp error occurred can not make connection to host"
The provider assures us the information is all correct and that the problem is with us. They can place files in our webspace through Internet Explorer but when we try it here it say we don't have permission. I have now tryed this on various machines but no joy !!

Any thoughts appreciated

use a proper FTP client like FileZilla for example.

I have done as suggested but still get an error, the one below

Response: 230- WARNING
Error: Disconnected from server
Error: Unable to connect!

I tryed a similar ftp client and the same happened

It may be your host's firewall reacting to Passive FTP negotiation. To some firewalls the negotiation process will look like a port scan and may block access.

response 230 is success btw

The problem arose when we switched to the providers broadband service and the old account which we had no problems with uploading with was closed.
I guess i'll get back onto them and see if they have any new ideas
