FTP and Directory Permissions

We have a directory we share to all of our users via mapped drive and FTP (for remote users). All users can access and manipulate all files and directories through their mapped drives with no problems. Same goes for FTP except users cannot access the "In Review" directories that have special windows permissions allowing users to only create files and folders. Users who access these folders through the network share have no problems.

Does anyone know if FTP conflicts with special permissions?

The users who access through the network are usinig credentials associated with their user account. What about the ftp users? What credentials are they using? Is it anonymous, do they supply username and password?

A+, Network+, MCSA 2000, MCSE 2000

They are using their username and password. We are using network shares for local users and FTP for remote users. FTP is by far more efficient on slower links than using network shares. I believe users are receiving access denied errors when navigating to the "In Review" folders using FTP because the protocol cannot handle special perms.
