clietns cannot access FTP sites through the proxy server.
I have read a few articles on this on the MS knowledge base however none resolve the issue.

Anybody have any idea why this is occurring and how it can be resolved ?

Hi, if you want "FTP read", check your access control on the web proxy servive and "enable folder view for FTP" in IE (tools/internet options/advanced).

If you want FTP read/write, you need winsock proxy client on the client computer or firewall client with proper access control on the FTP protocol.

hope this help
