What determines the restriction levels of the FRL? I understand you can have an FRL value of 0-7, where 0 is the most restrictive and 7 is the least restrictive, but I don't undstand what determines the level or restriction for each FRL value. Thanks

prt
rlb

Code:
RLI 5
ENTR 0
LTER NO
ROUT 6
TOD 0 ON 1 ON 2 ON 3 ON
     4 ON 5 ON 6 ON 7 ON
VNS NO
CNV NO
EXP NO
[COLOR=red]FRL  2
DMI 6
FCI 1
FSNI 0
SBOC NRR
IDBB DBA
IOHQ NO
OHQ NO
CBQ NO
[/code]

then return, each rlb has an frl assigned, for that call you will need an ncos of at least 2 to use route 6

So FRL is arbitrary and solely depends on how RLI's are programmed?

In other words two different switches can have a FRL of 5 but one might have more capabilies than the other due to different RLI programming.

FRL's are dependent on how you program your NCOS, all FRL's do is says you need at least this value of ncos or higher to access this route, in this RLI.

Actually its the other way around the NCOS is dependant on the FRL it is mapped to.

The FRL's are the real restriction in the switch not the NCOS.

yes, and you can use nctl to change ncos to frl mapping.. you can make ncos 0 =to frl 7.. just to through another twist in the mix.. at my site ncos 1 allows local and ld with an auth code.. at other sites i've built, 1 was just local, 3 was ld and 6 was international.. all others were not used and therefore if assigned would allow just internal.. in each new switch i check the rlb's before answering any questions about ncos to long distance access

will this conflict with LD 49 FCR? because NCOS in extension is looking at FCR to block dialing specific numbers right?

fcr can be used if your using 9 as an ac or dialing the acod. on a new install i only use 49 for idc and never need nfcr due to bars... bars and fcr don't both work at the same time... i have one allow table in fcr because we have an overhead page with zones.. needed the allow to give us digits after the acod..
