fresh install of 2003 using same computer name

We are going to embark on the 2K3 upgrade of our servers. I know there are specific steps for domain controllers, but for member servers, can anyone see any downside to doing a fresh install of 2k3 but still using the same name as that 2000 server had?

I've done this with two servers now, with no problems so far. The basic process I followed was:

[li]Get anything off the server I needed (or made sure it was on backup)[/li]
[li]Shut down the server[/li]
[li]Deleted the computer account from AD Users & Computers[/li]
[li]Allowed time for the deletion to replicate to the other domain controllers[/li]
[li]Installed 2K3 on the server[/li]
[/ul]
