How often do you reboot your SQL7.0 servers? (Please no answers from MS BOL.) Thanks.

When I first joined the company I work at now, they would reboot the SQL 7 servers every couple weeks.

After I set up backup/re-index/etc.. maintence plans (there were none) we rarely ever boot it except for updates , what-have-you (not all of the servers are dedicated). Because of the updates I would say every 2-4 months.

Only when site-wide power outages, mandatory upgrades and hopelessly locked user processes require it.

Only when required. We have no scheduled reboots. We are now at SQL 2000 SP2 and need to reboot even less frequently than with SQL 7. Terry L. Broadbent - DBA
