Freeze panes properties

I am trying to change the colour of the freeze panes option but am now wondering if it is at all possible.

My boss has asked me this. I know it seems a weird request, but he has gone format mad!!!!

I have checked all the logical places, checked what little I know in VB, to no avail.

Can anyone help me??????

In Excel 2k3 and 2k, If you create a button for the Freeze Pane command (can be added to any of the toolbars), you have the option to Edit the Button Image (including displaying as Image & Text) You can make it any color you wish...

My fault. I mean the lines the freeze panes creates.

I think you are asking about having each of the panes on the worksheet a different color. Is that correct? If so, I don't think there is an automated way to do this.

But it shouldn't take more than a couple of seconds to do manually.

If you press [Ctrl]+[Home], it will take you to the top left corner of the bottom right pane. Once in that cell, press [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[End] to highlight everything from the active cell to the last cell in your data set. Now just choose a color.

If you want the shading to go all the way to the end of the sheet, then follow the [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[End] with [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Down Arrow] and then [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Right Arrow].

Once you understand how to navigate using variations on [Ctrl]+ various keys, you can quickly select each of the panes in their entirety.

Oh, the lines.

Select the entire row above the split, Go to Format > Cells, and then go to the Borders tab.

First, choose the desired color from the box at the bottom right. Then select the desired style (or weight) of the line - i suggest a heavy line. Now select the bottom border. Click OK.

Repeat for the vertical pane line (if there is one).
