Freeze panes in Excel 2003

I have a user who has a problem with XL2003. Whe she freezes panes, the columns to the right and below will not scroll. Is this a new problem with XL2003? It works just like 2000 except when you arrow right, the selection just goes off the screen into neverland, and the display won't follow.

Never mind - found that user had a split, and then was trying to freeze panes inside a split. Weh I removed split, it works fine. Thanks anyway.
