I use the broadband connection at work to upload the definition updates, then transfer them to my home machine on a CD.
Twice now the update has failed with a 'files may be corrupt' error.
If I then go online and try to do the update I get the same error with the uploaded file. I had to reinstall AVG to fix this the last time it happend, does anyone know why this happens and is there a fix short of reinstalling?

i have the same problem about the update manager. it says there that i need to restart my pc to complete the update process. but when i restart it's asking me to restart again to complete the update process - an endless restart loop. i also uninstalled and re-installed avg (free ed.) but unfortunately the problem didn't go away. i tried manualy updating but it says update was successful yet there was no evident update done. by this time, my virus database is already out of date so the update is very much needed.

does anyone has any idea what's going on here? thanks in advance. peace! [peace]

I am not sure if mine was the same problem, but yesterdays update was accepted Ok and it seems back to normal now.

You could try again if the next update is out, it might fix itself?
If a restart is required it may be that you will need to reinstall AVG, I would download the latest program file from the website.
