You didn't say what OS you want it for, so I'll assume Windows.
A good free compiler for windows/DOS:

Try the gcc compiler. They have free compilers for all os. including win95.

If you go to the Borland site, get the C++ ver 1.01.
It supports the mouse.
To install the compiler follow these directions. I found them on a Borland newsgroup.

What OS do you use?
For all OS's you have to copy all files to one directory. Then use the
"subst" command.
For DOS:
subst a: c:\tmp\tc201
install ...
subst a: /d
For W2k it is similar but you have to choose a driveletter which is not
in use. In DOS it must be valid/in use.
