Framework 1.1 & 2.0

Quick question...

I seem to remember reading somewhere that BOTH versions of the .Net framework (1.1 and 2.0), should be included in a windows build to support applications written utilising both.

Is this still correct or will 2.0 now support bespoke apps written in 1.1?

If you want to save yourself some money and a few headaches then apps written for .net should have the 1.1 framework.
