A client is running a multi-user DOS application in a window on Windows 98 workstations. Some users have a tendancy to close the window using the 'X' on the top right of the window rather than exiting the application correctly (ignoring the warning message that then appears).

Is there any way of:

a: disabling the 'X' in the window

OR

b: putting 240 volts through the keyboard/mouse if the user tries use it!

Change the properties of the desktop icon that starts the program so that it runs in full screen mode, thereby making the x quit capability anavailable.

Your customer can then use the windows key on the keyboard to switch back to the Windows environment

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, I did not give an adequate description of the problem in that the user needs to switch between windows (including the one running the DOS application.

They can switch from the dos app to windows by pressing Ctrl and Esc
They can switch from windows to the dos app by clicking on the taskbar.

Has your client tried training classes for his workers? Education is likely your best answer. Not perfect, though, since sometime I find myself about to do the same thing. Only my training and experience prevent me (barely) from clicking "Yes" to close the window.

frenchpeter,
small correction my warning:
in .pif file ("Misc") you may exclude Alt+Enter key
from Windows key.
(Stay possibility kill it in Task Manager...)
