I recently switched from Windows 98 to Windows 2000. And now my Foxbase application takes 80% longer to export data for archive. Could upgrade to Win 2000 be the reason this process is taking so much longer?

HI
The memory management may be the cause. Make sure that you allocate the XMS memory correctly. For this.. right click on the application icon on the desktop.. select properties and memory tab.. change the XMS momory from NON to auto.

Again start the application and then press alt+spacebar. Again repeat the process. YOu should be thru. :) ramani :)

The XMS memory was already at auto. Do you know of any other reason why from windows 98 to windows 2000, I would experience such a drastic slow down when trying to archive files?

Check your network client settings. Change the "file caching" to "off". This may work, if do a keyword search on 2000/XP slow down, etc, because I've had slowdowns and everything I tried (off this site) didn't work apart from this last one.

Grimwaldi.
