Have had issues forwarding off site to toll free numbers (eg 800) but work correctly for any numbers. We are using release 3.2.55 but also have the issue with 3.2.54. Any ideas?

You are checking forard unconditional, checking internal and hunt group if needed and using your shortcode for dialing out plus the number. It will help if you give us the senario that forwards the number.

What issues?

Is it an issue with the trunk you are sending the call out on with calling toll free numbers? What lines have the issue, do they all? all users have the issue?

The posting has no real detail to it, so it is only total guess work at this point.

Currently we are trying to forward to over a PRI. I have had same problem with Verizon, Cavalier, and PaeTec both PRI circuits and POTS lines. YES the user is unconditionally forwarding along with the 9 in the dial string and no restrictions for transferring or forwarding of switch. Also tried building a system short code which the user forward to with no luck. You can call the user internally and the call will go out to the 800 number, but calling into the switch and hitting the user just kills the call.

Let me say this a different way. I can RCF to any area code in the US but not to toll free number.

I would run a monitor trace.
If it is a network error maybe they don't like your CLI
try setting your shortcode like:
sc:[9]1N;
d:1NSi2025551212(replace 2025551212 with your main #)
f:dial
lg:0

Do not use the user form to build this short code, only the system short code are used for system outdialing.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Can you show us what the shortcode looks like that you are using for this?

Can you call this 800 number from your phones now?

If yes. What trunk is it going out if it works? Is this the same trunk it tries to go out when it forwards out?

If yes, probably a short code conflict or issue. If no, try sending it out over a different trunk, one that you can call the 800 number on successfully.

Some trunks do not have toll free access in some cases, from what I have seen.

Also, try using a hunt group to do it, with user CF out. use multiple users in the group w/forwarding, if you have issues with calls going out more than one at a time.

It is going out over a PRI, but have had the same issue with analog trunks. It works only if you call the user internally. I also tried the hunt group route as well.
I know there is no issue with my short code due to the fact that I can dial the code and it works. Tech support says its a provider issue. The provider says its an equipment issue.

Time to involve AVAYA with the telco I think. Get the issue escalated, traces going, etc. I do not like these situations, but such is life, let them fight it out.
