The site I'm looking after has been set up a little bit strange and they're using a "virtual" (X port) extension as a pilot number with a cover path that has an answer group as the first point.

The problem I have is that the dept this number belongs to want ot be able to forward this number to a meeting room every now an then. If it was a real extension, no problem. If it was a proper hunt group, again, no problem.

I tried the the FAC but it only diverts the phone we dial it from. Any ideas (at all) would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas to you all...

Thanks,
Andy

You could change that number to a VDN, add a hunt group and an agent and create another station like the one you currently use with a different extension (Same coverage Path).

The vector for the VDN would say something like this:

01 goto step 5 if staffed-agents in skill 20 > 0
02 route-to number (X Station) with cov y if unconditionally
03 stop
04
05 route-to number (Meeting Room) with cov y if unconditionally
06

To activate meeting mode just login the agent assigned to skill 20 and all calls will go to the meeting room until the agent is logged off. Once logged off everything is back to normal. The Agent login is just a phantom login just to activate the meeting mode.

Thanks dmoore7648. Will this work if the meeting room phone is an analogue phone?

You can also set up a button on a digital set to forward it.

Bobg1, that would be exactly what I'd like to do, but I'm not sure how. Could you give me some more details - I'd really appreciate it, especially if I can get this sorted before the holidays.

A digital phone with concole permissions will be able to transfer the phone. when done press fwd and dial the ext you wish to forward and then the destination. Console permisions is the key to your problem
