I have a weird problem here, and hope someone can help me.

First a little background. We have an incoming DID which during
certain hours we would like to forward overseas to Germany. We
currently have account codes from our telephone provider which needs
to be entered after long distance calls.

So far I have successfully set up a shortcode #3014 which
successfully dials the German telephone number and enters in the
account code. I was successful in testing this from a telephone by
dialing #3014.

Now comes the problem.....

I tried the following:

I set up a new user called XXXnight and set unconditional forwarding
including hunt group and internal calls to #3014

Under Incoming Call Route for the DID I set the Night Service Profile
as well as the Night Service Destination

When I call into the DID all I get is dead air. It is definately
connecting to the IP Office as I can see it through the call status
utility.

I have also tried setting this up through a hunt group, and was
unsuccessful as well.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I would open up monitor and watch the call. You should see the IPO searching for the shortcode. Also, In Call Status, is it showing that call going out?

If you ring the suer internally does it forrward?

Set the no answer timer on the user to 99, if the no answer timer is low it will only try and forward for that amount of time.

Try another scenario:
During normal hours present the call to a group, after hours set the group to "out of service" without a target.
Put the german number in the ICR as a fallback extension.

OK, for the most part the IPO cannot forward calls, but actually conferences a call out on another line to the target number in reality. Look to see if that call is being established first of all, before we worry about it failing to connect. Each incoming call will use the inbound trunk plus the outbound trunk to complete the "forward" so you will run out of trunks at some point if high call volumes.

call the germany number
call the user forwarded to Germany
call the short code

check Inhibit Off-Switch Transfers settings system/user.
check lines are both directions setting

did you set up a phantom user ?
that won't work
it needs to physical like a (free)analog port

Have they not fixed that phantom user cannot be forwarded thing yet in 3.2? Maybe the maint release?

i forgot it but tryed it today on 4.0 and no it does not work on an phantom user

I thought it worked in 3.2, and not 4, I will have to check it.

i also use phantom extensions unconditionally forwarded in 3.2 without any problems.

I have 4.0 and need to Forward to an external number.

What are my options? Put a phone on the system just so we can forward?

I have the 4.0 too, and yes, I've had to put a physical phone in place just to make it forward calls. Ridiculous. Hopefully the next maintenance release will fix this.

No, you should be able to create a User and check the unconditional forward box and put the number you want to forward to in the forward number space below that. You shouldnt need an actual telephone.

User-Phantom
Ext- 199
Forward Tab- Check Forward Unconditional
Put what you would dial from your office phone
into the box below that(i.e. 95554443333)

I just tested this on a 3.2(55) system here in the office, so if it does not work for you then its a 4.0 bug.

I have seen 3.2 earlier releases not forward out the second or more calls to a hunt group whos member is CF uncond set. I fixed this by creating more phantom users that forward, and adding them to the group as well. Other than that, I thought it was all good to use phantom in 3.2 forwarding.

this kind of things make me doubt if i am doing it right
so it should work but it doesn't
but sometimes i think it just won't work while it should

In the incoming call route destination I've simply put 9 plus the phone number.

That has allowed a couple of our customers to send calls to a hunt group during the day and to an answering service at night.
