I feel like I must be missing something obvious here:

We have an employee who left (Ext A). Temporarily I want to forward all calls to Ext A to Ext B. The snag is that I want unanswered calls to end in Ext B's mailbox. Forwarded calls are covering back to Ext A's mailbox.

I can bypass this completely for external calls using incoming call treatment but I want internal calls to also end up at Ext B's voicemail as well. We don't use forwarding much but I could have sworn it used to work this way as opposed to call-coverage.

I just had this same scenario, but if you forward the calls to a remote coverage, and use the full xxx-xxxx, it will go to Ext. B's voice mail. That is how I ended up doing it. Or you can create a VDN and vector that will send the call to a messaging skill. But I found it easier to add Ext B to the remote coverage table, and just do it that way.

Nice thinking! I'll have to give that a try.

381 = extension A
380 = extension B

Audix programming allows for one "secondary" extension per subscriber.
Modular Messaging allows for more than one.

Code:
display subscriber 380                                               Page 1 of 3
                                 SUBSCRIBER

         Name: CLASSIFIED                             Locked? n
    Extension: 380                                  Password:
          COS: AA                              Miscellaneous:
Switch Number: 1 Covering Extension: 0
 Community ID: 1 Broadcast Mailbox? n

There's a coverage after fwd'ng field on page 2 of the station form that dictates if coverage will remain at that station or to the fwd'ng station. You need to know your system settings for the default 'disp sys-par cov'. The setting on the station form is prob 's'. We do this all the time and the only issues we have are when sending over QSIG/h.323 trunks. DCS works.
