Can anyone tell me how to forward all messages sent to a users mailbox to an external email address using exchange 2000.

For example if I wanted all my messages forwarded to my hotmail account as well a being kept in my mailbox because I would be away from work for a period of time and wanted to keep an eye on what was coming in.

thanks

Kenny

Have you tried using Mailbox Agents or Rules???

You need to create a contact in Active Directory Users and Computers. This contact with have the external email address as an SMTP entry.
Then in the actual AD object for the user, if you go to the Exchange General tab, select the Delivery Options and select the contact with the external email address you created earlier and there you go.
Hope that was helpful

There is also an option in the above that allows you to send that e-mail both to the exchange box and the external address.
I actually like this forwarding because sometimes the current OWA is a bit limiting compared to some users webmail accounts when they're on the road.
