hi guys,
here is the senerio,
1.i have these support mails coming from my external mail server (hosted with some company), and i use exchange server in office, and can any one suggest how can i forward those mails to a public folder in exchange server ( internal) so that everyone can access them, instead of forwading them to all users in company,
2.is there any way i can filter the incoming mail based on the subject and direct them to public folders.
thank you all,
-Gos

technotips,

Create a Public Folder and mail-enable it.

my problem is i have an external mails to be forwarded to internal public folder, i have created a public folder and mailenabled it, but i want to know how to get mails from external server to this internal public folder, thank you.

If you configure SMTP setting of your mail-enabled Public Folder (say: INFO) to have an email address: INFO@yourdomain.com, incoming email for INFO@yourdomain.com should go straight to INFO Public Folder.

i have done that but still its not working, all these days i was forwarding mail to 3 other people instead of creating an account(resume@domain.com) now i want to make a resume public folder and make all the mails come to this folder and then every one can look from there right, i did what u said but its not working, should i remove forwarding on email account on external and make it and email account, can you help me on this thank you in advance.

hi i am really confused now, thank felixfond for the link no wi am clear for pop3 connectors but i am bit confused of small business server, i dont have small business server yet, all i have is 200 advanced server and exchange 200 server(sp3) on it, can you tell which pop3 connecter i can use for getting mails. or else do i have to use SBS only, thank you very much

technotips,

Above link will help you setup pop3 connector on your Exchange 2000 Server. That will work for both Exchange version. The only limitation with SBS is it can accomodate up to 50 users only.

hi guys, can any one help me with which pop3 connector i can use to get mails from more than one pop3 account to public folders, i tried chimera software, but it supports only one pop3 account, thank again

If the External address is resume@domain.com (the ISP box), have it forwarded to resume@yourdomain.com (your Exchange domain.
If for whatever reason, those domains are the same (not really good), you have to let the ISP forward resume@domain.com to publicresume@domain.com (the address of your public folder).
If you want to use a POP3 program, get PopCon, works great, multiple Pop3 accounts, with logging et.
And don't go the cheap way on this, free is free as long as the company supports it, and you rarely have support anyway. If the solution is out there, let us know it was helpful, so others can benefit from it as well..

hi guys i tried all the ways i could at last,i ended up with going for one pop3 connector, right now i am testing the free chimera software but i want to buy one with multiple pop3 accounts, or else i am planning to shift to Small Business Server ( i want to use fax service also) bcoz we are partners of microsoft so licsence is free right, any way thank you all for the info,

PopCon is a breaze to use, really, try it for free first, it support multiple pop3's and the pro even has antivirus build in. If the solution is out there, let us know it was helpful, so others can benefit from it as well..
