Hi,
I've created a rule for my inbox in my work email account to forward all incoming emails with my name in the "To" box to another web-based email account I've set up. However, they aren't being forwarded. Just as a test, I modified this rule to also forward the emails to one of my colleague's work email addresses (which is also on our server). This works. Is it not possible to have the emails forwarded to another account automatically - eg. to a Hotmail account?
Thanks

It should work. Could there be another rule interfering?

thanks for your reply. No, there are no other rules at all, that's the only one.!!! It's driving me crazy! Any other suggestions?

Are you on an Exchange server by any chance?

Marc

Yes Marc, Microsoft Exhcange Server.

In that case, have the forwarder put in on your Exchange properties.
Depending what version of Exchange the place differs.
In Exchange 2000 - AD Users and Computers - Go to your account - doubelclick to get the properties - Click the Exchange General tab - Click Delivery Options.
Select the Forwarding Address and fill in the web-based address you want it to send a copy to. Don't forget to put a Check in "Deliver the message to both..." or you will not receive it on your local account anymore.

If you don't have access, ask your Exchange Admin to do it.

Thanks for the help Marc. I'm actually using MS Exch Server Version 5.5. Sorry I should have said sooner.
I presume you're familiar with Version 5.5, but just in case you're not...I got as far as "Delivery Options", but "Forwarding Address" isn't there. Instead, there's an option for "Alternate receipient". It was on "None" by default. However, when I clicked into the other choice, I couldn't enter another address, (ie the web based email I want). I clicked on the "Modify..." button on the right, but can only enter an alternate email that is already on the server, ie. employeeName@companyName.com. Also, "Deliver Messages to both..." is grayed out.
Maybe it's not possible to do this with version 5.5?
Thanks again.

A, yes, on Exchange 5.5 it is in a different place.
You need to add your external address to the server first, as a custom recipient (and hide it from the Global address book afterwards).
Only then you can select it.

Thanks, that worked!
Just one other question - how do I hide the custom recipient from the global address book?

It is a checkbox in the account properties which says ... "Hide from ..."
