I have a another post under Xandroid 12/25/00 that can be reviewed as well.
I have heard of this interface being possible on the Mircosoft site, but no one there, here or any other forum has been able to outline for me how this can be done.
I will have drawings with different shapes linked by lines, arrows actually, and there will be various text data with each shape and of course a title. This data contains what can become task imput data, with resources and task durations etc. I have read the MS project has a standard definition for input from automated sources. I would need that. Then I would need what job routine to launch to get the data, and from where?
Where does it look. The visio export side is even more unclear, what does it look like and how to mapp the data across to the project format, must a program be written.
That then is not what I call "The software interfaces to MS Project". Now I would hate to take that route if there was a mapping program or wizard. Is there. How is one to find answers to these questions. Is there some documentation I am not aware of?
I would not mind if the solution was to go from the drawings to VISIOs Pert charts and task plans and then out to project, or Visio project objects out to excel and then to project. The last two ways may even be preferred. But I can find a way to learn how to do any of this. How do you learn this? Where is the information? I'll be asking MS that again. I would be most grateful for some help here.

Project Timeline template, Project > Export Project

Opens the Save As dialog box, in which you can save a project timeline you created in the Visio Project Timeline template as a Microsoft Project exchange file (.mpx) so you can open the file in Microsoft Project.

Visio 5.0 Online Help, (C) 1992-1997 Visio Corporation

The help files also have much on OLE and interfacing to other applications.

Hope this helps.
