MS Excel 2000
I was editing a spreadsheet I inherited from someone and I was trying to add a formula to it, but can't get it to compute the formula. It just displays the text of the formula rather than the computed values.
I have checked the tools/options/view/formula setting and the box is unchecked, so that doesn't seem to be the cause. I've also tried changing the format of the column to general rather than text, but that doesn't help. I've also checked that the cells aren't locked.
I've asked three other people in my office about this and they were all equally baffled. If anyone has any suggestions on other things that could be causing it, then I'd be delighted to hear them.
