Is there a way i can create a form to make it easier for users to enter data, but prevent users from deleting previously entered information? I don't want them to delete it or change it. All changes should simply be created as another record in the DB so that the history of the item is documented.

In your form design, on the property sheet of the form, scroll down to Data Entry and change it to YES. This will make your form an Entry form only.

OR change Allow Edits and Allow Deletions to NO.

Please ask Access questions in the Access forums.

I've looked and looked and looked. I'm using Access 2003. The only Data Entry section i see is under RECORDS on the Menubar. However, it is in Forms View instead of design view. Further it doesn't indicate if it is selected or not. So even if it were preventing updates and deletes, it doesn't show it. I don't think that is the section though.

Under properties, there is no Data Entry option.

Thanks guys. Please give me a little more info. I want people to enter info into blank cells or records, but once they input the information, i don't what them to be able to change it or delete it.

Open your form. Click the button BELOW the word File on the menu bar. DO NOT CLICK FILE. The button will have a screen tip that says VIEW. After you click the button, right above START (lower left corner) it should say Design View. In the upper Left corner of your form is a grey square. Click in the square. A Black square should appear. This means you selected the FORM. On the top toolbars near the right, you will see a button with a hand holding a piece of paper. The screen tip will say PROPERTIES. Click this button. The property sheet will appear. The title should just say FORM, (AND NOTHING ELSE). Click on the Tab that says ALL. Scroll down to Data Entry (11th option from the top). Click in the box next to it. A dropdown will appear. Click on the dropdown and select YES. Close your form to save it. When you reopen the form, it will be ready for data entry and will show record indicator as 1. They won't see any previous records.
