forms 6 and 8.1.7

Is there a compatablity problem with forms 6 and oracle 8.1.7. The application keeps freezing. Should we be using froms 6i only with 8.1.7

If you mean installing them into the same home - don't do it, because Forms uses 8.0.6 libraries. As for working - they are compatible.

I want to know how can i Install forms 6i with Personal Oracle 8 If i install at same home they freeze and give me the Tns lost error message.if i install in diffrent directories then how can i link Personal Oracle 8 with forms 6i.Iam using Windows 98 SE.Please Help me.

You should set up Forms sql*net correctly: by using Net8 Assistant or by editing tnsnames.ora/sqlnet.ora files manually or just by defining TNS_ADMIN environment variable pointing to the directory where correct versions of that files reside.
