Is it possible to format indvidual gridlines on excel charts e.g. in order to set a baseline to facilitate identifying those parts that fall above or below it.

Many thanks

Neil

Hi,

Why not add a new data range, with ZEROES before the breakpoint and ONES after.

After adding the new series, select it and change the Chart Type to LINE or whatever and format accordingly.

:)

Thanks skip

I guess its my fault for not being clear enough. The e.g. was just that more specifically is it possible on say a bar chart to have different gridlines say multi colours but thats only another example.

I suppose Im asking how to access the properties of the chart down to the individual gridlines , even if this is a VBA requirement.

Cheers

The GridLines Object has no further granularity. You have to perform "tricks" to do things like what you are conceiving.

Check out the John Walkenbach site. He has a great book on Excel Charts and feature alot of tips 'n' tricks. I have already stated just one of these techniques. The dividing line can move with the current data, for instance a Current Date Line. It can be a simple formula in the data that reflects a Current Date Line in the chart.
