Help-I tried to install Win 98 over Win 2000. It formatedd the C: drive and crashed. I can get to a prompt (with start up disk), but the PC doesn't recognize the CD drive, so I can't load Win 98. What do I need to get the drive back?
and get a boot disk for the level you are installing, fdisk and blow away everything, fdisk and create or just move to the CD and let it create on its own.
Should cover over 98% of the drives on the market.

Hi ajaxr77 - yes it gives me the option for CD support, but b/4 I get to windows, I get the wizard. safe mode is the only place I can get to successfully.
I looking for CD-support in safe mode so I can make a bootdisk and so I can access my data on my CD-RW's.
Hi Edfair - I am looking @ bootdisk.com. Looks very promising. Thanks. Even if it does not get me into full windows, I found some interesting utilities there. Have you used the site enough to trust it?
If you are getting the wizard you must have the Cd as a higher priority in the boot order. Take it back to A; ,C: and get the floppy to take over. That gives you back control.
Have only heard of one person having a problem with a disk they downloaded. Everyone else I've read about was happy with the site.
