Access 97

I have been learning Access development for several months now. I am still struggling with sizing of forms.

I would think that if I set the form width to 5 inches that the form would be displayed 5 inches wide on the screen. However, it seems that it is actually displayed based on how I size the window when I am developing the form. I also have to make the window smaller than the forms to get them to display correctly.

Am I doing something inherently wrong, or is this just the way it is. TIA...

While in form view, restored mode, use Size to fit form from the Window menu.

Wow, thanks...that makes the sizing much quicker. I should have posted that question several months ago.

When I switch back to design view, the right and bottm of the form are truncated (I need to use the scroll bars to see those parts of the form). Is this just an inconvenience we have to live with? Have they made this more user friendly in newer versions of Access (I am using 97 here at work)?

No - after sizing to fit, it's to "small" in design view, then I just switch to maximized;-)
