Form design advise, please.

I'm looking for the best (most efficient) way for my single record form to search a table, pop up a subform showing all relevant entries that the user could click to select the desired record, and then move to that individual record in the main form for either viewing or editing. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The first things that come to mind are using SQL with a filter or to set the form recordsource property, but I don't know if either of these, or something else is best.

Your assumption sounds correct (its the way I would do it too) ;-)
If you R not sure how to create an SQL string, make a querry when you R pleased with this querry have this shown i SQL-mode, grap this string and use it for your form.
You will need to modify it a bit but its a great starter!

Hmmm...neither of these seems to work though. I tried looping through a clone of the main form recordset to maintain identical bookmarks, and that works except that my subform detail doesn't grow to include all the matches - only the last match found. Does anyone know how to add a row to the detail section of my unbound form to show each matching record?

1. The subform must be a continues form. But I am sure that you know this.
2. On the after update event on the mainformadd the following: Me!subform.recordsource="Select * From YrSubTbl Where SubID=" & me!mainID

Dear Freind
Did you know that when we solve problems we have 2 ways.

1. We know the answer and reply from years of experience.
2. Write a little test in access from the sketchy question other users provide, make sure it will work. Then we write you guys back.

What do we get from this? Most of the time nothing, some times a thx, and if we are really lucky we get a star. It is odd, is it not?
