I have a form (access 97) that has a button that opens a word document using the shell command. It has worked fine until we upgraded to Office 2003. Now the form crashes when I click on the button unless I put a break in the vba code and step through the sub, and then it runs just fine. Has anyone else had this problem before?

I get the standard XP error message screen that MS Access has to shut down with the option to send the error to Microsoft. I was able to click debug and this is the error message:

Unhandled exception at 0x30188a43 in MSACCESS.EXE: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00693975.

I have done some looking and I am not able to find anything yet. You might double check your references. If no go try a repair on Office.

Sorry I could not be of more help, but if I find anything I will post back.

Thanks for the effort. Per your suggestion, I'm going to play around with the references to see if that helps any. Thanks again.
