Hi all,

Wondering if anybody can help me. I've built a db to track office inventory. The main form is set up as a read-only so that you can look up items by their assett tracking sticker number. The Form gets it's data from a query which is basically a mirror of the primary table.

I set up up a combo box as a look up instead of using the find option. The combo box works fine after I save it and test, however, when I close the db and reopen it does not work. I click the drop down and select but the data doesn't change from the current assett? I also cannot manually type in the specific assett number anymore? It's wierd. This works on my other forms. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all in advance!

yeah, that's cos of the AllowEdits is false...

you have to set the form to AllowEdits if you want to be able to select with a combobox.

Thank you for your quick response.

The form is set to true on all except data entry. I do not want the rest of the group to be able to edit this particular form, because it will only be used to look up assetts as opposed to adding or changing information. There are seperate forms for updating and adding information. Is there a way I can make this work without changing the properties for data entry?
