How's it going? I have an issue I have been struggling with. I have an application built. The form action is mailto. There is a javascript check for the fields and at the end of the check is form.submit(). I found out that Netscape does not accept the form.submit() if the action is mailto. Any work arounds known out there? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the time, Moogwai.

Unfortunately mailto submission is not considered a very good method, and you will never see it used on a commercial website - so you might want to use a cgi script, or a server-scripted page - ASP,ColdFusion etc.

You will be wanting to move into server processing anyway.

This way the browser does not come into it. Useful in many applications.

I would use a CGI script, the problem is that the HTML file is on a CD (being called from an .exe) and thus server processes are null and void. I guess I should have mentioned that the file is running local.

Oh O.K. well you could try using a mailto link, and adding the information manually to the body of the message.

Does Netscape 6 support the mailto action?

Not sure about NE6, I've been testing on 4.7 for safety's sake. I suggested to my client the copy and paste formatted text option, but the client is hell bent on it being automated for some reason.

Bahhh - NS4.7 - tell your client to get a life - if it won't work, then it won't work - simple as that.

You shouldn't be forced to waste your time with old crap like that anyway - right?

Hey, are you Australian? I am here in NZ.
cool.
