Forgotten Password

I have a client that forgot the power-on password for his thinkpad 701 2630 IBM.<br>
I am not used to working with notebooks <br>
and I am unsure of the procedure for<br>
cancelling the password. I normally just<br>
short out the cmos, but this is much different than the PC's I work on.

Your laptop may have a user replaceable CMOS battery. Check your manual and unplug the battery. You may need to leave it unplugged for quite awhile.<br>
